So far, dA has been pretty cool, I'm definitely a fan of being able to let the world see my pictures. And some of the artwork on here is just amazing. It's really easy to get inspired to do something constructive on here.
But, I'm put off the ridiculous numbers of people who are obsessed with anime or manga. It's just a Japanese cartoon style, I really don't get the hype. There are some serious artists on here, but I feel like their deviations are being overwhelmed by the millions of sketches of huge-headed cartoons. Don't get me wrong, I don't consider myself a serious artist at all -- I'm just messing around on here -- but I'm not abusing an art site, using it as a manga convention.
Maybe I'm being unfair, but it seems like dA is just becoming a website for preteens dressing up as Dragonball-Z characters. I guess I'll just stay out of the chats while I'm here.
